Program Overview

The program runs from June 3 to August 9, 2019. Interns will receive a $4,000 stipend. Free housing will be available. Need-based travel awards may be requested and will be distributed based on availability.

Research Experience

  • Train full-time under the direct supervision of a mentor responsible for the lab or research group to learn research design, techniques and analysis
  • Opportunities in basic, translational, clinical, and behavioral research are available
  • Complete and present an independent research project
  • Several clinical shadowing opportunities in the Hospital

Professional Development

  • Weekly luncheons with all CRISSP interns and participating faculty
  • Weekly Summer Scientific Research Colloquium focused on broad career exposure
  • Completion of an Individual Development Plan to identify program goals
  • Conduct at least three informational interviews for educational and career advice
  • Opportunity to mentor high school students interested in research
  • Social and educational programming with fellow students and researchers throughout CHOP
